A premium consulting partnership for districts and therapeutic day schools. Built on four pillars — Structure, Strategy, Staff, and Sustain — to give your teams the systems, coaching, and leadership rhythm that make behavior support actually work in real classrooms.
Who this is for
Every engagement is built around your context. But the patterns we see tend to fall into two camps.
Districts rolling out MTSS, fixing a Tier 3 process that's overwhelming their BCBAs, or building capacity in a behavior team that's stretched thin. You're not looking for one more PD day — you're looking for a partner who can help build systems that hold.
Therapeutic programs that need a fractional behavior systems strategist — someone who can support your team without becoming another full-time salary line. Clinical depth, BIP consultation, and leadership-level partnership.
Why most behavior systems quietly fall apart
Behavior plans don't fail in design. They fail in implementation — and they fail predictably, in three repeating patterns.
The framework looks good on paper. The flowcharts are in the handbook. But Tier 1 isn't holding, referrals keep climbing, and staff don't trust the process. Most MTSS rollouts don't fail in the design — they fail at the implementation layer that PD days never reach.
Your BCBAs are between buildings, drowning in caseload, writing plans that nobody implements. They don't need another training video. They need expert backup, implementation coaching, and a partner who can build their capacity instead of replacing them.
Paraprofessionals sit through PD. Teachers get the slide deck. And classrooms look the same on Monday. The issue is rarely the content — it's the coaching cadence, the leadership rhythm, and the sustainability layer traditional PD never includes.
The Framework
Sustainable school behavior support, built on four pillars: Structure · Strategy · Staff · Sustain.
Tier 1, environment & MTSS structure.
The foundation every behavior system sits on. Classroom design, referral flows, MTSS structure, and the Tier 1 conditions that determine whether anything else holds.
FBAs, BIPs & targeted interventions.
The plans themselves — FBAs, BIPs, and Tier 2/3 interventions. Designed to be implementable in real classrooms by the staff who actually carry them out.
Capacity, coaching & training.
Where most plans collapse — staff capacity. Coaching, training, paraprofessional support, and BCBA mentorship that build the people who build the kids.
Leadership rhythm & sustainability.
The rhythms that keep it from collapsing — monthly leadership calls, feedback loops, accountability cycles, and intentional transfer of ownership to your team.
Every partnership package addresses one or more pillars. Every add-on service maps to a specific pillar. The whole framework gives your team a shared language for the work — and a roadmap for what to build next.
Scope
Premium consulting means clear scope. Districts get a strategic partner — not an on-call crisis BCBA.
Partnership packages
Each package addresses one or more pillars of The School-Based Behavior System™. Scale the partnership depth to match what your district actually needs.
For districts who need expert eyes on the room — without a full-time fractional partner.
Single buildings or smaller districts wanting expert backup without a full partnership.
For districts actively building systems — with the coaching cadence to actually implement them.
Multi-building districts or therapeutic day schools building systems at scale.
A fractional behavior systems strategist embedded across your district or program for the full school year.
District-wide rollouts or whole-program engagements that need a true partner.
What a typical month actually looks like
A real month, from a real engagement (district names changed). When your team asks "what are we paying for?" — this is the answer.
2,800 students · 6 schools. One district BCBA. Special Ed Director (Karen) is your contact. Engagement is steady-state — audit done, framework in use.
6,200 students · 8 schools. 2 district BCBAs + 1 behavior coordinator, all in active coaching. The month the para training gets delivered.
110 students · therapeutic K-12. 4 BCBAs + 2 lead teachers in coaching. Mid-year review month with the Q2 in-person consulting day.
District names changed. Hours, activities, and outcomes are representative of real engagements. A full breakdown for each tier — including how Month 1 differs from steady-state — is available in the District Services Guide.

About your consultant
Meghan Edwards began her career in schools as a special education teacher — managing classrooms, writing IEPs, and learning firsthand what behavior support actually requires when you're the one in the room every day.
As a BCBA, she brings that classroom-first perspective into every district engagement. Her work focuses on the gap between behavior plans and behavior implementation — the layer most clinical training never reaches.
Meghan founded School-Based BCBA to bring real-world classroom expertise to behavior support across districts and therapeutic programs — partnering with leadership teams who want sustainable systems their staff will actually use.
